Premier and Vizient both announced AI work this week, a day apart. Premier hired a Chief AI and Analytics Officer and put him in a new center reporting to the CEO. Vizient previewed three products and put them inside the business unit that already sells spend management. The difference is where each put it: Premier has built AI beside the company, under two titles nobody had held there before, and Vizient has put it inside the business the AI is meant to improve.
