Earn when your answer is used, for up to a year
An approved answer can earn a share when it is used — cited when a subscriber asks GPO Intel, or included in a report we sell — rather than once at submission, for up to twelve months from acceptance or until the information becomes public, whichever comes first. After that it stays on the record under your attribution and keeps being cited, but it stops earning. Whoever brings us something new earns from it; those who confirm it are not paid for confirming. There is no rate card: what an answer earns depends on how hard the question was and on what comes back. Some questions carry no payout, and we say so before you answer. What you earn builds up on your record and is paid out on a schedule, by hand while the program is small. Separately, when we commission answers for a specific report, we pay for that work directly.

- What do I earn today?
- Payouts: a cut of the money your answers bring in when they are used — cited when a subscriber asks GPO Intel, or included in a report we sell — for up to twelve months or until the information becomes public. Whoever brings us something new earns from it. Confirming an answer somebody else gave is not paid; the reason to do it is that checking a claim is how you find it is out of date, and then the fresher answer is the one that earns. The pool grows with every subscriber. This replaced the research-credit scheme on 1 October 2026, and credit already earned under the old terms is honored. Payouts are issued by hand while the program is small.
- How is this different from expert network calls?
- Traditional expert networks book you for a one-time hourly call, then you're done. GPO Intel is asynchronous and compounding: you answer short questions from memory on your own schedule, each answer keeps working in the platform, and every citation it earns is logged on your contributor record. No scheduling, no prep, no calls.
- What kind of questions will I answer?
- Short questions you can answer from memory if you have done the job: how contracting and re-bid timelines really work, what drives a member to switch, category dynamics, org and process realities. Observed patterns and experience — never anything under NDA, and never "what is a GPO."
- Is there any NDA or compliance risk?
- You should only share information that is not proprietary or subject to an NDA. We review all answers before publishing. If you're unsure, err on the side of "industry knowledge" rather than confidential specifics.
- How does the reward work?
- Most answers earn on use: your answer is tracked every time it is cited, and the payout follows that use rather than landing once at submission. The exception is commissioned work, where we ask for answers for a specific report and pay for that work directly. An approved answer can earn when it is used — cited when a subscriber asks GPO Intel, or included in a report we sell — for up to twelve months or until the information becomes public. Citations keep being recorded after that; the earning is what stops. What you earn builds up on your contributor record and is paid out on a schedule rather than after each citation. Some questions carry no payout and are marked that way before you answer. The rate and the split are set out in the Contributor Agreement, and any change applies going forward rather than backwards.
- What does "approved" mean?
- Approval means your submission passed our screening review — the check that a contribution contains nothing confidential and nothing unlawful before it enters the corpus. It is not an editorial grade on your answer.
Program disclosures
Expert contributors are paid for approved answers, as a share of revenue for as long as the answer is used. Contribution does not affect coverage.
Payouts. Contributors are paid for their participation: a share of the money each approved answer brings in, under the terms in the Contributor Agreement.
Editorial independence.Participation in the Expert Network does not affect any organization's coverage, ratings, or how it is described on the platform. Coverage decisions are editorially independent of contributor participation.
